How does LightStim light therapy work?

How does it work?
The mouthpiece is preloaded from the lab with a compound called carbamide peroxide. The light acts as an accelerant and activates the compound and it lifts the stains out of your teeth. Your teeth have pores like your skin. Smoking, drinking coffee, red wine, tea and things like that stain your teeth. This helps remove the stains from the pores.
How long does it last?
Typically about a year. If you smoke or drink a lot of coffee or red wine you’ll lose a couple of shades over time.
I’ve heard it causes sensitivity / Does it hurt?
Not really. About 3 out of 100 people experience some minor sensitivity but it only lasts for a little while. This is a different process than strips or trays that you leave in for an hour. The solution is 44% carbamide peroxide so it’s stronger and does a better job I less time. The treatments are 20 or 30 minutes. So there is almost no chance for sensitivity.
Will it damage my teeth?
Not at all. The process is FDA Approved. It helps lifts the stains out of the pores of your teeth but it doesn’t do any damage to the enamel.
How white will it get my teeth?
Everybody responds differently. You are guaranteed to see a difference or you don’t have to pay. Everyone gets up from the chair happy. You’ll get between 2 and 7 shades whiter. Most people who go 30 minutes get about 4 shades whiter.
